Today's payday covered earnings from October (Halloween) which was a really great month for Squidoo. Terrific traffic, great lenses, Amazon module sales were thriving, vampires were hot thanks to Edward and Bella...
Thought you'd enjoy hearing some stats:
-- The top earner made more than $1300 for the month.
-- Hundreds of people earned $100 or more.
-- More than a thousand people earned more than $10.
-- Lensmasters donated more than $5000 to the Squidoo Charity Fund.
-- More than 90 people had 100 or more lenses all ranked in the top 100,000.
-- 150+ people earned more than $10 each for charity.
-- Dozens of lenses raised more than $100 for charity in just this one month alone.
-- The top 5 earning charities supported by Squidoo in October were: Save the Children, CAER, ASPCA, Acumen Fund and Room to Read.
-- A few of the most-sold eBay items on lenses in October included: halloween costumes, Christmas ornaments, crafting beads, zhu zhu pets, canon powershots, Coach shoes and bags, birthdaysupplies, Cuisinarts, Thanksgiving decorations, World of Warcraft Buring Crusade, Steampunk stuff, Wiis, pajamas, Nintendo DS games and skins, and even Kindles.
Many lensmasters report much higher total numbers when they take their off-Squidoo sales in to account -- additional revenue like sales from their Zazzle, Etsy and Lulu stores, from blog traffic generated by lenses, from consulting leads and so on.
Here's looking forward to even better reports for November and December!
Way to go, Squids.

Interesting is right! Good to know what the top earner made since I always wondered what it would be like. Something to strive for.
This was my second payday and I jumped by like 70% from my first month!
Can't wait to create some more lenses in the next few months!

Good to see the mix of charity and earnings!
Most of us need to support ourselves at least somewhat, but it's great to be able to set aside a chunk for charities. I need to get mine up to 5% like Squidoo; right now it's around 4%.

By far, I had the best month ever. (But, no, I was not the $1200 earner)
Thanks, squidoo!

Any chance of knowing who the top earner is? Would be nice to go through the lenses and learn something.
Nice work everyone! ![]()

Interesting
Only 90 lensmasters control almost 10% of all lenses under 100,000

"The top earner made more than $1300 for the month."
Wow! That is pretty fabulous for being able to write about your passions, interests, hobbies and make more than what Social Security might pay in a one month period! There's hope for us old-timers to supplement that income. ![]()

While I'm still one of the "more than a thousand" people it's indeed interesting to see it the way JaguarJulie puts it. This might take my kids off the hook! ![]()

Well, if this were public knowledge, how many folks do you think would do more than just "learn"?

Thanks for sharing the stats! It is so great to read about how well everyone is doing. I sent over $300 to the CAER Food Shelf which made me VERY happy! I was just having fun writing about stuff I enjoyed...who knew that my favorite charity could benefit so much ![]()

Great stats! Thrilled with charity contribs. this month, plus encouraged by increasing earnings as I close in on 1-yr Squidversary. Thx for sharing the info, Megan.

I think that is the most interesting stat to me too.

I agree with the Jeffs,
90 lensmasters control over 9,000 of the top 100,00 lenses
(probably more when multiple accounts are taken into play and the fact that there are several of us that probably have more than 100 lenses in the top 100k....)

There was a time when the top earner for the month was named but it just resulted in a load of copycat lenses.
What I would be interested to know is what the highest top earner payout ever was - I think it was probably a lot more than $1,300!

In that case, let it be!
Congrats to the top earning lensmaster whoever he/she is! ![]()

Wow! I am among the people that didn't think it was possible to make that much money in a month! I'm not even close to that much, but my payouts are getting bigger. Congrats on the top earner!
