After being featured on the Giant Squid Community Showcase, yesterday, I was delighted and surprised to find that the new Zazzle module lens and the older lenses that I had created (featuring both my own and other Zazzlers work) was already paying off in a big way. Last night I had 4 big fat referral fees in my Zazzle earnings box! Whoopee! If you become a Zazzler and an associate you receive 15% from Zazzle every time someone follows your link from Squidoo to buy something (whether it is your product or was made by someone else). If it's yours then you get an additional % (whatever you set up).
Zazzle and Squidoo, a match made in heaven. Squidoo even has the Angels.

Excellent!

The referral fee zazzle has rocks. It's a huge percentage -- 15%! It adds up very quickly.

Great stuff!

That is AWESOME!

Nature Girl, I am going to check your list, but I hope you have a lens on how to do this!
Thanks

That's encouraging to hear! I need to go back through my lenses and add the Zazzle module here and there. It's a great layout and whoever came up with it, THANK YOU.

Margo,
Bonnie has a great how-to lens it's: How to Create a Beautiful Squidoo Lens for your Zazzle Gallery . It shows you how to feature Zazzle products using the text module and you can also add some Zazzle modules for the newer products.

I can't wait to use this module on other lenses. I'm glad they introduced it, I have tons of Zazzle items to promote!
Offline
I just made a $9.30 referral!

Bdkz,
you earned a referral through your dashboard or from zazzle in your zazzle account for an item you designed? I'm confused...
Offline
let me clarify...
I have no zazzle gallery. I don't have the artistic ability to create a zazzle gallery. I WOULD like to promote zazzle products through the zazzle module and earn referral fees for doing it.
How? who pays the referral fees? what name do i put in the 'gallery name' box? anyone?

Zazzle and squidoo together sound great. I am with Loyalis on the question. Can you promote others galleries and get a referral fee?
Offline
I'm with loyalis. I don't have a gallery but there are some items I would like to feature on one of my lenses. The module won't find any items by keyword, although I know they are there. And I'm not sure how to determine the "gallery name' either.
Thanks

I'd like to include other artwork on my lenses but I don't see a way to pick and choose specific products (only by keyword and author). I wish this was more like the Amazon module and we could add specific URLs.
Offline
I'm having trouble narrowing down my items by keyword as well. All searches come empty, even for "kiwi."
I've earned referral cash from Zazzle before, but I used a text/write module and my own referral link to get the referral. In other words, I used Zazzle's affiliate code to get money. I'm curious on how the Squidoo Zazzle module works -- I'd like to start promoting other people's stuff as well.

some things i've learned in the last few hours:
1) to find items you HAVE to put the name of the gallery you want into the username box. I can't get any results to come up otherwise.
2) No-one who's checked their email today knows if you sell other peoples stuff in your modules then an associate fee will display in your dashboard (i.e. amazon or ebay).
3) this question is confusing by nature because people assume I mean the commission i get for designing products and selling them on Zazzle (which i'm not) or the zazzle affiliate program using 3rd party links (which is incredibly hard to use by the way). I'm referring to earning affiliate money that is split with squidoo by using zazzle modules to promote other peoples art.
Any answers?

I would also love to hear the answer to Loyalis' question. It's always nice to have additional sources of revenues on your lenses!

Sorry, I wish I had the answers, but I'd be curious if Naturegirl's referrals came through the Squidoo Zazzle module or if she made her own text/write module and made her own links with the Zazzle affiliate program. I agree, Zazzle's affiliate program is very confusing and hard to use. I wish they'd rework it or I'd use it more often.

My referral money was from Zazzle. It probably came from the text module links that I set up, but there is no way to tell. I tried to go look at click outs, but I have about 50 lenses with Zazzle products on them. Guys, you don't have to have a lot of talent to have a Zazzle Gallery. You can make T-shirts with funny sayings and things like that by using Powerpoint and saving it as a jpg. Just a few T-shirts posted on your Zazzle Gallery and then you sign up as an associate and ANY referrals from Squidoo will get you 15% of the purchase price. You don't ever have to sell any of your own stuff and it doesn't matter if it's bad or good. Just set up a gallery and sign up as an associate. Then it won't matter how the new zazzle module works. ![]()

Sales through the Zazzle module are currently going into the co-op pool.

1) I have been able to get results without putting a gallery name into the username box, but you must be very specific or put really broad terms like, animals, potter (not Harry Potter) or tiger and leave the product type set on all. Actually I kept a zazzle tab open and the lens workshop & go back and forth. The searches are better on zazzle & you can find better search terms that way, but it is hard to get exactly what you want with the new module. It seems to pull up the most recently published items. That's why I'll probably continue using the text module with the zazzle link to this code.
2) I'm assuming that it will work like CafePress and Amazon, but I'm wondering if Zazzle associates will get the Zazzle referral on Zazzle.
3) I get that, and no one from upstairs has said exactly how the money from the Zazzle module will be distributed.
To use the Zazzle affiliate links I just copy the code for the products I want to use in a lens into word pad, then strip off the extra div stuff on the front and back of the code and copy and paste it into a text module with no returns or breaks between them and use <p align="center">

According to Megan it's not like the Amazon and CafePress modules. Not yet...but they would like it to work like that at some point.

I have made several lenses using the new Zazzle module. I even went back and added Zazzle modules to several older lenses.
I have some that feature my gallery and some that feature others galleries.
I have even made some where I have left the gallery name blank and just put in the product and a keyword.
It worked fine. I also have done some that feature particular artists who have work that I like.
If you want to see one featuring several artists look at http://www.squidoo.com/FractalsAtZazzle
I just went to their gallery to get the link out of their address.

Ah, interesting. So those who aren't Zazzlers should go make a couple of products and put them up for sale so that they can become an associate. You can use photographs or jpg's of text designs or you can just use the Zazzle text editor which has a zillion different fonts and colors and create some funny t-shirts, mugs, mousepads, etc.
