2. Spam: just don't do it. Thou also shalt not fill the forums with multiple threads on the same topic, sockpuppet, or link to irrelevant and non-Squidoo sites (includes signatures).
3. Thou shalt not flame, harass, denigrate, spam, malign, or otherwise finger-point and name-call at ANYONE. This one's a biggy. This too can get you banned.
4. Squidstaff love interacting with smart front-line people, so they stop by the forums from time to time to hear your ideas and share updates. However, this isn't the place to post bugs or solicit admin action. Please send those requests through our feedback link.
5. The SquidU forum is a place for users to interact, to share ideas and inspiration (and yes, gripes... maybe another lensmaster can help) and have fun with their lenses. Try searching for an answer or visiting The Answer Deck.

UPDATE...

Skim through the submissions and "roll" other peoples submissions (it's just one click) of the ones you like.

Don't use ALL CAPS for titles.

Make sure the titles aren't too long.

Be mindful of your tags. Make sure they're appropriate.

Use Lensroll.com to roll your best quality lenses. It's for the best of the best.

I've been caught! smile

I really should have gone with Glen as my lensmaster name. And in fact was thinking of changing it, but then I wasn't sure if I'd still be credited with the referrals I was hoping I was getting.

So I am probably, as my daughter calls it, a hypnocrite. big_smile

Ack, some linguist I am. I hadn't figured out what N376 meant.

It took me a couple weeks here before I stopped instinctively typing NC376, as if he were some sort of small Starfleet vessel. big_smile

OMG... I can't believe I've been mistaken for a Trekkie.

The embarrassment!

I'm a Star Wars fan. So TN376 might be more appropriate. Or even TK421.

No PR3, not from where I'm looking.

Maybe Lewis misunderstood the conversation I had earlier in the thread? That I was hoping for a 3 in the next PR update.

Re: Lensroll.com unveiled

Maybe this is a good place to ask, maybe not, but perhaps you can tell me: the Mall on Squidoo group has a PR of 5.  What can I expect that to do for the group- any ideas?

In reality, it doesn't do much at all.

Though there are forums full of webmasters who would beg to differ.

Having had a site with both a high position for a very desirable keyword that sent me thousands in traffic per day and it also having a PR of 7 I can say without a doubt that high ranking in the search engines is far more desirable than PR. PR doesn't earn you money. Traffic does.

That is correct. Any backlink not originating from Squidoo or SquidU is going to benefit a lens.

Hey Glen. Wouldn't a link from Squidu count as an offsite link since squidu.com is a seperate domain from squidoo.com?

Re: Lensroll.com unveiled

Lensroll is certainly an added benefit for lensmasters. Well done!

A couple of questions:

1) Why is there no contact for the site?

2) How long does it take for lenses to be approved (and presumably moved from the "upcoming" category to the "published" category)?

Re: Lensroll.com unveiled

Excellent job Glen! Did you do all of the design work yourself? The interface feels like it was built on a Drupal core... any hints smile

Oh one more thing? have you thought about a LR cutoff for submitting lenses as a policy ? What kind of quality are you looking for exactly? Obviously good content, but will lensroll.com have a WIP level so to speak....

For the lensmaster,  having a link on a PR5 site (that is if the lens is featured on your main page which has the the PR5 rank) technically should help that particular lenses pagerank.   However, since these are internal links, they probably don't help as much as a link would if it were offsite.  Pagerank doesn't help with rankings.  It basically helps to raise the PR for links listed on the PR site or to make money selling links.

What can it do for the groupmaster?  Start selling some PR5 links on your Mall group page to interested outside parties! LOL!  wink

Oh, and Great Job, Glen on lensroll.com!!

Yes, that would be the best market to pitch at.

Re: Lensroll.com unveiled

Well, that's an interesting point.

SELL some featured spots...  SELL some 'ad space.'

We will see if it still maintains that PR after Google does its next 'big thing.'  The tool that Jonitas gave us to try predicts that the Mall group will become PR 6.  It will be interesting to see if that happens...
