Yep, rules. Read 'em. Abide by 'em. Or your sea creature powers may be revoked. Temporarily, or for good.

3. Thou shalt not flame, harass, denigrate, spam, malign, or otherwise finger-point and name-call at ANYONE. This one's a biggy. This too can get you banned.

How does it compare to Amazon?
Online

According to the iTunes Affiliates info, Squidoo get 5% and share half of it with you.
Amazon pays 8.5%, half of which is shared with you.
One thing to remember: iTunes is very popular for music, and you may see more sales than with Amazon.

Plus, from what I've seen, where Amazon is on average 89c, iTunes is 99 or $1.29 (small, but it helps)
...not that I'e actually SOLD anything. That I know of.

So the way the math would work out is that I would have to sell 2.4 times as many songs through iTunes to match what I would make from Amazon. (BTW, since the time of this thread, I have seen enough sales to determine that I would indeed benefit from being an Amazon affiliate).
That, coupled with the fact that with iTunes I would be getting no feedback about which songs are selling, makes Amazon look a lot more attractive.
Of course, if I could figure out a tasteful way to do it, I could give people both options. Use Amazon spotlights to talk about the songs in depth, and then maybe have one iTunes module at the bottom for people who prefer that. Hmmmm . . .

I incorporated both in my "Best Summer Songs" lens. My routine was (for each song) - 1 youtube video and the iTunes module for that song. Then I used Amazon Plexo so that users could rank their favorites and add their favorites. You can specify MP3's in the plexo.

Bare in mind that non-members can't vote in Plexo modules...

Good to know but can you still click on them?

I usually have both - but with Amazon it's easy to add a long list, while with iTunes a few obvious samples and then it has an obvious 'search for more' option Also, sometimes they offer different songs.
For the record, I have sold a bunch of amzon songs, but I think none were from actual lenses with songs on! And I have this past couple of days been getting search hits for "portal still alive itunes" (or variations) on my Still Alive lens.
- oh, does anyone know if/when iTunes actual turns up in the reports?

I much prefer the Amazon over iTunes.

I haven't used the iTunes module yet, but I know that I really like Amazon, especially the Spotlight module. I've also got a couple of lenses that have Amazon MP3s on them.

I like the way the iTunes module displays and makes it easy for people to sample tunes. Does anyone have a screen shot of how iTunes shows up on our royalties. I haven't seen anything so wasn't sure how it's being reflected on our payouts.
