Yep, rules. Read 'em. Abide by 'em. Or your sea creature powers may be revoked. Temporarily, or for good.

1. New to the lounge? Get started here. Learn which category to post your note in, and create a forum signature.
2. Spam: just don't do it. Thou also shalt not fill the forums with multiple threads on the same topic, sockpuppet, or link to irrelevant and non-Squidoo sites (includes signatures).
3. Thou shalt not flame, harass, denigrate, spam, malign, or otherwise finger-point and name-call at ANYONE. This one's a biggy. This too can get you banned.
4. Squidstaff love interacting with smart front-line people, so they stop by the forums from time to time to hear your ideas and share updates. However, this isn't the place to post bugs or solicit admin action. Please send those requests through our feedback link.
5. The SquidU forum is a place for users to interact, to share ideas and inspiration (and yes, gripes... maybe another lensmaster can help) and have fun with their lenses. Try searching for an answer or visiting The Answer Deck.

A Contest in Squidville

Hello everyone, now that another bunch of snapshots have just been uploaded to the Squidville Lens, it brings this phase to an end and in celebration the town is sponsoring a contest. It's actually an easy one, and you just need to be watching as you cruise through town. Rules are simple and there will be 5 winners. This will only be announced here in the forum, and is actually a way of saying thanks to the folks that have had to put up with my shenanigans here! smile

What do you have to do? Just find all of the places in town that show the URL of "Squidoo.com". The first 5 people to e-mail me with the correct modules and the location of the URL (no guessing smile ) will win the following:

A 2 1/4" celluloid pin-back button
http://i394.photobucket.com/albums/pp21/tagsforkids/Squidville/SquidvilleButton.jpg

And a personalized T-Shirt (click on the t-shirt for a larger view)
http://i394.photobucket.com/albums/pp21/tagsforkids/Squidville/SquidvilleTee3.jpg

This is a "one size fits all" (well, providing you are no taller than 12") and comes personalized with it's own hanger and suction cup for easy display. Actual dimensions are 6" high and 8" wide (for our friends across the pond, that's 15.2 cm X 20.3 cm). You can choose to either have your real name or user name (space permitting) and of course you will need to provide us with an address for shipping. Please allow sufficient time for processing and mailing.

To help with just a few hints, there are a total of 15 that contain the URL. There may be other places that show the name Squidoo, but only the URL with the .com applies. While most are easy to spot, there are a few a bit trickier so look everywhere. As soon as I have 5 winners, I'll announce it here in the forum and give the answers for those that can't locate all of them.

Thanks, I look forward to receiving the entries and wish everyone luck!

Well ... have you been talking to my eye doctor?  Ha, you have made me realize that I now need my eyes examined ... and I'll say it before somebody beats me to it ... yes, and sometimes I should have my head examined.  argh argh argh.

TY my dear!  Fun and frivolities galore.

Re: A Contest in Squidville

Thanks everyone! I sent back replies...and everyone is VERY close, but as of yet, no one has identified all 15 correctly.

Of course credit where credit is due, Julie did submit the URL contained in the fine print at the bottom. She does get credit for it, but alas it's not part of the contest. All 15 are in the "snapshots" about town.

Good luck. big_smile

Re: A Contest in Squidville

OMG Steve !!!!!  I really can't believe that the location that was not on my original list ... well was not on my original list!  I knew that was one of them and NEVER bothered to go back and check if I had it on my original list of 16 as I knew it was there you know.  And, funniest thing too, that when hubby was playing your game last night, he was zipping through them including THAT one and thought that one was one of the easier ones.

See, it just goes to show you that because you think you've got it, and you don't ... that you need to go back and review yourself to see if you REALLY do got it ... you know!

argh argh argh ... geez, now I can get on with my life er day.

Fun fun fun ... and for that, I thank you!

lol

Thanks Julie,

You're right, sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees! :-)

Bottom line is that you got through it and got all of them. Be sure to send me your info as the prizes will ship next week. I'm glad you at least had fun with it and not just frustration! smile

Yes ... the forest but I couldn't see it there because of the trees.  It wasn't there too ... was it?  Thank you!

You know ... as contests and challenges go ... this has got to have been the FUNNEST one on Squidoo in the past 4 or so years.

wink

Woo-Hoo ... there is a party dance in Squidville tonight!  Peering across the crowded dance floor, who's that I spy?  Why it's none other than Michelle, Christene and Norma doing the limbo rock in celebration.  Me?  Why I am doing that happy dance.

Oh Joy, What Fun!  wink

Time for a bud-weiser!

Re: A Contest in Squidville

Ah, Steve!  I just NOW saw that lovely graphic with the Squidweiser!  Sweet.  wink

Let me say, that yesterday I found a package awaiting me at our front door.  "Hmmm, what can that be?" I wondered.  Imagine my huge surprise when I opened the package.  OK, I am going on a diet!  Love the t-shirt.  I mentioned to hubby, "How about we try that on Boots the cat?"  "Ha, ha!" he said.  lol

LOVE LOVE LOVE that surprise item you included in MY package.  That was quite sweet ... I will definitely be putting it in a flagship location ... "Look out below!"  You all.

THANK YOU Steve for the fun and frivolities of your lovely contest ... and for being such a sweetheart.  Hubby loved it too!  wink

You are certainly welcome Julie! I not only had fun doing the contest, but enjoyed being able to print some personalized goodies to send to everyone. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. Who knows, maybe we'll have to do another one. smile

Hope Boots is on the small size if he going to wear that shirt, and as for the extra surprise, you did earn it with your "extra credit" submission! smile I hope it comes in handy.

Unfortunately there have only been 4 winners so far, so there is still a slot open for someone else to get a shirt and button. Thanks again for entering and for the kind words, I appreciate it.
