Hello again, Squid-Veterans.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to center a Youtube video on the page? The post-it notes and the polaroid modules are all nicely centered and look great. I think it would be much more attractive if the Youtube Modules in my lens Your Life Sentence in Six Words were also centered.
I would love to hear Your Life Sentence, too!
Thanks!
Brenda

Unless one of the lensmasters with more coding knowledge than myself can suggest an alteration to the YouTube Module then I'm afraid there's nothing you can do. As far as I know you can't centre it.
You may be able to balance it out by using a description, rating and view time though?

No, unfortunately you can't. However, if the description of the video add to your lens,
I would include it, making the uncentered Youtube video less obvious.

Yes, you can center a YouTube module, but it requires some very cunning CSS.
The width of the lens is 620 pixels, and the YouTube module is 300x247 pixels. If you squeeze a floating paragraph which is 150x247 down the left of the module, you can shift it over so that it appears to be in the middle. Something like this in the module's description will do the trick:
<p style="float: left; width: 150px; height: 247px;"> </p>
I hadn't actually tried this myself before now, so I tried it on one of my lenses - it works a treat!
I do something very similar on my CHUCK lens, where I have inserted an image to the left of the video. I had to remove all title, description and details from the options though (annoyingly, these reappear every time you edit the module).
I have also used this kind of trick to replace the video description with something else, either my own review or some Amazon links (as I did on my Wii Games lens).![]()

Brilliant...thank you very much! It has sure cleaned up my lens, Your Life Sentence in Six Words nicely! It will take a few more minutes to apply it to my other lenses...

It looks great Brenda, it definitely looks aesthetically better.
Great trick for those who like to center her or his content.
Rock can include this trick in his YouTube module lens.

Thanks to Brenda for asking the question - I hadn't even thought about centering the video before, and it is an excellent idea.
